Zeppelin server can get very slow when logs/ folder is too big

David Salinas
Hi,

I recently remarked that Zeppelin becomes prohibitively slow when the size of log is too big : the UI becomes then severely unresponsive. Deleting logs fix it. Maybe they should be some strategy to clean this folder when the daemon is active...

Best,

David

Hi,

thank you for bringing it to our attention!
What was the rough size of the logs when it started to give you troubles?
Indeed muting or explicitly configuring log verbosity makes a lot of sense. May be you could also create an issue in jira to track the progress?

Thank you!

Corneau Damien

Not sure why the logs server side would slow the UI though

Yes I would agree. Sometimes I have noticed that a note takes a long time to load but that is because it embed all the results that are used to display (previously obtained) results - some can be several MBs
